Jurassic is considered to be a period in time, which is a significant part of the geologic timescale. It starts from about 199.6 ± 0.6 Ma (million years ago), at the end of the Triassic to 145.4 ± 4.0 Ma, at the beginning of the Cretaceous. It comprises of the middle era of the Mesozoic epoch. This period was also very well known as the Age of Dinosaurs. It also relates the Jura Mountains, which are found in the area of Germany, France and Switzerland meet. Some of the major Jurassic exposures are also seen in Russia, India, South America, Japan, Australasia, and the United Kingdom.
The famous novel and also the movie with the name Jurassic Park refers to the Jurassic period. The creatures that basically reflect in this period are from the Cretaceous period. There is also a very famous Museum of Jurassic Technology in Los Angeles, California.
