Incense is a substance with a wonderful fragrance and aroma. It produces this odour when it is burned. It is a pleasing scent made from aromatic plant matter. It uses essential oils that are extracted from plant and animal sources in addition to other things. It releases a fragrant smoke as it smoulders. It is used for religious, therapeutic and aesthetic purposes. It is an integral part of worship and prayer in the Hindu religion since the ancient times. There are incense clocks in China and Japan to keep time. It is also used in other religions like Buddhism, Christianity and Judaism to a certain extent.

Makko powder, Borneol camphor, Sumatra Benzoin, Omani Frankincense, Guggul, Golden Frankincense, Tolu balsam, Somalian Myrrh, Labdanum, and white Indian Sandalwood powder are some of the ingredients used in making incense. It is available in different forms. It has to be carefully blended and manufactured. Many types of fragrant woods, resins, herbs, and essential oils are used as incense or to make incense. Perfumed incense sticks are the cheapest form of incense and also the most widely used.
