The word 'resorption' is used usually in the context of medical profession and the word is used to describe the phenomenon of disappearance or dissolution of tissue through a biochemical activity. You can find the use of the phenomenon to describe the loss of bone or also the loss of the tooth dentine. The word can also be used to describe the process of the selective uptake of the previously filtered substances into the bloodstream of a person.

The word is formed of two words 're' and 'absorption' and it describe the phenomenon of absorbing things again. As the second meaning of the term conveys the same idea it prompted the use of the term. Even the second phenomenon is popularly known as 'reabsorption' rather that 'resorption'.
