Gospel means "good news". The word itself is derived from "god-spell" an Old English word. It is derived however from the Greek.

The word Gospel is a word closely linked to Christianity. It mainly refers to the preaching of Jesus Christ with relation to redemption. It forms the core of what Christian's believe to be revelation.

The Gospel Bible is the name of one book amongst the first four that constitute the New Testament. It contains the teachings and describes the life and death of Jesus and his resurrection.

Doctrines or teachings of religious leaders are also termed as Gospel at times. Gospel is also used to refer to a kind of music.

As per the Islamic dictionary the Gospel is the word used in the Koran to refer to Christian scripture.

The remark gospel is a resultant from an old Anglo-Saxon speech sense "good message" or "good news." And certainly it is! According to The Bible, "And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and preaching The Gospel of the Kingdom" (Matthew 9:35 RSV).

It is stated as

It means the gospel is God's authority to convey those who keep on believe on HIM.

On that day existing waters shall stream out from Jerusalem, semi of them to the eastern sea and partially of them to the western sea; it shall continue in summer as in winter. The noble will turn into ruler over all the earth; on that day The Lord will be one and His name lone.

"He wills reviewer among many peoples, and will come to a decision for brawny nations far away; and they will strike their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks." (Micah 4:1-3 RSV)

I hope this answer will help you understand the meaning of gospel better.

In translation, Gospel means "good news". It is taken from Greek which means 'good-new' and is used in the New Testament. In the religion, Christianity, this term 'gospel' can be used to mean a number of things, which includes:
• To indicate the declaration of God's saving activity.
• More popularly, the four canonical Gospels, which are attributed to the four preachers.
• Other non-canonical works of ancient times that declared in reference to Jesus.
• A sort of Early Christian text.

The word "gospel" was used by Paul, before the historical Gospels of the New Testament principles had been produced, it was he, who reminded the people of the church at Corinth "of the gospel I preached to you" through which, Paul assured them that, they were being saved, and he characterized it in the simplest terms, highlighting Christ's appearances after the regeneration. It is a word from the religion of Christ. It is the basic faith of millions of people all over the world, who believe in the oneness of God and the Almighty. They believe in his existence and on his powers. They have huge celebration in December which is the birth month of the Almighty Jesus Christ.
