What Does Deviation Mean?
Deviation means an act of deviating or turning aside of your course/concern. Deviation refers to a downward trend in a graph or the amount by which something has got deviated. A deviation is considered to be an abnormality. A deviation is the difference between an observed value and an expected value of a variable or a particular function.
There are various synonyms of deviation such as divergence, departure, difference, variation, digression, etc. There are various types of deviation such as magnetic deviation, frequency deviation and phase deviation (as in a radio), standard deviation & mean deviation (as in mathematics) and statistical deviation.
A deviant behaviour generally refers to an inferior quality of behaviour.
Deviations are built to improve the speed and quality of the trains on railways as well to pass through dams.
