My name is Yanique, its a very common name in jamaica. The name is really Russian and is pronounced yenic. It derives from the root name John and Stemmed from Yochanna. It does mean God has been gracious. I have researched it for a while out of my curiosity.

Yanique is a feminised form of Yannick. This is a name for both boys and girls sometimes found in France, based on the old Breton name Yann. This itself is a version of John; and John is derived from the Hebrew Johanan, meaning "god is gracious." So your daughter's name has a lot of history!

According to ancestry forms that I have checked, the origins and meaning of the name "Yanique" remain unknown. But my theory is that it is a variation of "Jannik," which is a very common name among Danish men. The name essentially originates from the Hebrew name  "Yochanan," which in English is John. In Hebrew, this name translates into "God's grace."
